The woman, Jafeth Ramos, 25, reportedly watched her ex-boyfriend, Uribe Cruz, kill six members of his family at their house in Chicago in Feb. 2016, according to The Associated Press. The six family members who were killed included two young boys. Ramos helped Cruz steal from the house after the murders.

Ramos was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday, according to the AP.

Ramos pleaded guilty to armed robbery under a deal with Cook County prosecutors, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The deal was that she agreed to testify against Cruz.

Ramos at one point was looking at around 500 criminal counts, all ranging from first-degree murder to burglary in connection to the murders but ended up pleading guilty to just one, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Last month, Cruz was sentenced to life in prison for six counts of first-degree murder, according to the AP. During his trial, Ramos reportedly told jurors she accepted the plea agreements in the hope of one day being with her son again. Her son was barely a toddler when Ramos and Cruz were arrested in May 2016.

Prosecutors alleged that Cruz shot his aunt, Maria Martinez, 32, according to the AP. He tried to rob her first. He then stabbed her two sons, 10 and 13, and killed three other relatives to “make sure there were no witnesses.”
