According to Allegheny County police, three people were shot inside the park in the “Lost Kennywood” section by the “Music Express” ride at 10:49 p.m. EDT during the first night of the West Mifflin park’s Phantom Fall Fest, WPXI-TV reported. The park is located southeast of downtown Pittsburgh.

One 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and was in stable condition at an area hospital, according to the television station. Another 15-year-old boy was grazed in the leg and was taken to an area hospital by a family member, where he was last listed in stable condition. A 39-year-old man was also shot in the leg and was treated and released.

According to the park’s website, the facility will be closed Sunday and will reopen Friday. Park officials said that any tickets from Sunday’s Phantom Fest event will be good on any future date of the promotion.

“The park is closed for the night and all guests have exited. We are aware of a situation that occurred this evening and are working with local law enforcement,” Kennywood communications manager Tasha Pokrzywa said in a statement early Sunday. “The safety of our guests and team members are our top priority. Members of the park’s security, Allegheny County, and West Mifflin police departments were already on site and immediately responded.”

Witnesses told police that the shooting occurred after two groups of juveniles were involved in an altercation, WPXI reported. One handgun was recovered on the amusement park’s property, police said.

A “mass casualty incident” was declared after shots were fired, which brought emergency medical service personnel from Allegheny and Westmoreland counties to the park.

Allegheny County police are handling the investigation in partnership with the West Mifflin Police Department, according to WPXI.
