Each night, once the Rodeo dust settles, a superstar takes the stage to entertain the crowds. The star entertainers begin performing after the last rodeo event is completed each evening and the stage is set. Actual start times for the concert can vary day to day due to the different number of rodeo competitors and other production elements.

2023 World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest
February 23-25


It’s all about the ‘cue! Purchase tickets for entrance into NRG Park for the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, which kicks off the arrival of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ each year. Tickets includes a complimentary sliced barbecue beef sandwich plate, access to live music areas and admission to the carnival. Tickets do not include access to private cook-off tents. Tent passes are not for sale and are distributed by the Bar-B-Que teams.

Children age 2 and under do not require a ticket.

For nearly three decades, The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s honky-tonk is not only a beloved dance hall, but has also been established as a proving ground for incredible rising talent that have frequently skyrocketed to the main stadium stage, including Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, The Chicks and more. The Hideout’s alumni also includes Eli Young Band who put on a surprise concert at The Hideout last year as part of Jim Beam’s “Welcome Sessions.”
